I could only imagine what they'd do to him if they discovered he was an alien. They're not ready for that either." Tom has a lot to say and that he thinks on the subject. It isn't in his words but the jumble of his thoughts that Soundwave could detect through his connection to his wife.
"Different, all the ways he's different, isn't acceptable on my Earth." The fatherly worry is there but also an aggressive determination to protect and help his child.
