The brush on his lips does cut off the wailing because it surprised Ziggy. The sound that came out wasn't pain but surprise. He stops for a moment to look up. Tom and Aletayria had wrestled his contacts out earlier and the eyes that look up at Rondo are solid, bright, sky blue with narrow snake eye slits. The left one just a shade darker than the right. Both right now are ringed in bright red flesh from all the crying and screaming and rubbing at them.
They stare for a moment and then he turns away again. His breath is heavy but the screams seem to have stopped. There are still quiet sobs shaking his body.
