"There are so many that are happy, including me." Ziggy leaned into Mick while they finished breakfast. Then slowly they all made their way back to their rooms to clean up and, no doubt, dress up. Everyone understood the weight of what this interview could mean.
Robert was down front a few hours later, waiting and preparing. With so many now on the tour, and in the entourage, his trusted red limo was put away in exchange for a large sleeper tour bus. Like the limo, it sported red leather in the interior, red carpet with gold, silver and black. It was still Ziggy's interior even if the outside simply looked like a large motorcoach. There were two front seats, Robert and Tom often there, though various band members took to the front for a visit or to take over driving. Thankfully, a few others; Damien, Ollie, Rekker, Devon, and Vars... and who knew who else, could drive the bus... legally. Robert was grateful for this part of the tour entourage expanding.
Behind this was a living room area, two long couches facing each other, TV, stereo system and overhead storage, though right now everything was in the hotel rooms. A U-shaped couch that could easily seat 6 or 8, or even more with how many insisted on sitting in each other's laps, faced this area and had a pull down table to turn it into a restaurant booth. Though there wasn't a cooking surface, there was a fridge, bar and sink. Beyond the living area there was a more private area. A small shower which Robert heard never ending complaints about. For the few over six foot and the large Norwegian the space was kind of cramped. Others complained that it was only big enough for one person and lovers couldn't shower together. He brushed them off. They could all live for a day without until they got to the next hotel. The back was a series of 12 bunks with curtains, these he had ensured were spacious enough, wide enough, to accommodate two. While he could brush off the shower, not being able to sleep together would have raised HELL to an extent Robert, nor Tom, wanted to deal with. Beyond the beds, along the back was a quiet area, almost like a window seat that ran along the back window of the bus. There was storage here too under and over as well as hook ups. While awake, some took to the back to practice or collaborate on instruments.
All in all, this was ideal though with nearly 40 people piled into the bus, quarters were close and when everyone was awake, very loud. After the first few days the musicians all seemed to settle in and fins some sort of self directed bus etiquette that evolved naturally.
Today, none of this mattered because the bus was only serving as a ferry to get them all to the interview. Hexed was always the first down with Bjorn and Ulrik in tow. The old veterans of the road were punctual and sometimes took their younger tour mates to task for being late or too rowdy on the bus. After the others began filtering in. Tom would be last out and have a head count to make sure everyone was on the bus. He then headed out with Thomas to attend to their part of this madness. Thomas might be a recluse but Robert could respect his odd sense of humor that often revolved around annoying and startling others.
He could only laugh at some of the outfits. No one was going to be ready for the short kimono, all the hot pants and tight leather... and especially not the amount of gender and sexuality bending that was going to be on display, flaunted probably. Shaking his head Robert went inside to take a second account of everyone. Once he ensured everyone was on board then they could head out to the studio.
