Ziggy Stardust Nexus Album Release Party

Why not in the Nexus had started all of this and now skekSa's bar had glitter and space themed drinks for the night, karaoke and a band playing for the release of a new album. Ziggy had decided this was the best course since so much of his family and friends couldn't go into his world to be there for his own party in his own world.

Of course, as with any good party this one was open to any who had stumbled into it and there were those directly invited as well. And flashy posters too. He was going through the ends of a sound check with the band when the bar opened.

There was a merch table, with the usual swag and new album to buy on CD and Vinyl, where they would be signing autographs and doing the whole meet and greet thing. Why not have fans in more than one universe? It had been a trip explaining this all to Mick. Weird and Gilly before dragging them through the portal. Ziggy still imagined there was going to be some crazy moments later in the night. They didn't even know he was an alien, or half alien anywway. All of this was going to blow their minds for sure.

After the show they had plans to spend the night just hanging out with drinking, karaoke, a DJ, and the usual bar fare. Ziggy had left Sa to the food and drink though he had put in a few requests for food his own species could eat.

Ziggy fussed with everything before heading backstage to drink and get dressed. About an hour after the bar opened they came out on stage and played through the whole album front to back plus a few from the previous.

Mom and Dad Stardust

Tom attended almost every concert Ziggy played back home, but this one would be different. This was the first time Aletayria was hearing Ziggy play, watching the insanity of his stage shows. The tall, red haired, thin Anthean sat beside him transfixed on the whole concert and didn't know what to say when it was done. She could feel the emotions and see images. It was very different for her than a human.

The first thing the twins did was hit up the merch table for some better shirts (to match the colorful hair they were both sporting for the night). Of course, they stopped to congratulate Ziggy on the release of his new album, but didn’t hold up the line for too long. There’d be time to hang out afterward.

As they made their way back through the bar, Minoru spotted a couple of familiar faces. He waved to Tom and his wife.

“These seats taken?”

Minoru couldn’t wait for the show to start!

Tom smiles up at the boys and motions toward the seats. Aletayria is starting to show her pregnancy and gone past the baby bump stage that Minoru last saw.

"Have you seen him play before?" Tom asks casually wondering if he is going to have to deal with the screaming and crying he usually saw at concerts.

“No, never!” Minoru was definitely excited, but a tiny bit apprehensive. Being around Ziggy and his family definitely had an effect on him. Hell, he thought talking with an Anthean was intimate. He had no idea what a performance would be like.

“From what I’ve been told, it is an experience that goes beyond the normal human senses.” Isamu added.

He then more properly introduced himself to Aletayria. While he had seen Tom around town, he had not yet had the privilege of meeting her in person. He congratulated her on the upcoming addition to the family as well, and wished good health upon them.

"It's something...." that was the only apt description really. "I just hope you don't start screaming like the girls back home."

Tom jests, good natured but damn those girls hit pitches he had thought were limited to Antheans or that was what it felt like.

Tom agrees with Isamu. "It can be. I've seen everything from no effect to people throwing of thier clothing and crying about Ziggy giving them freedom."

Aletayria wecomes Isamu and then gives him a motherly hug.

Balthazar flitted between guests until he came up to Tom and his Anthean wife, Aletayria. Last time their meeting had started off on the wrong foot and that had been remedied with a good cup of tea and conversation. Yet, the angel was still interested in bonding further with Jack's space dad and actually meeting his mother.

"Hello again, Major Tom. It's nice to finally meet you, Aletayria."

He offered the Anthean a polite nod and offered her a hand to shake if she so felt inclined. It was more an Earth greeting used by Seth, his vessel, and Balthazar had adopted it.

Tom nods to the greeting but the woman looks up with her yellow gold eyes, the slit pupils expanding slightly and then contracting. She doesn't smile, in fact she has almost no facial expressions at all aside from her eyes. She has hair as bright red as Jack or Ziggy but it falls way down past her waist. Clear eyelids blink as she stares and it gives time for the angel to notice other quirks; her lack of external ears and fingernails are the most prominent. Though, she does have the tiny fangs like Jack and Ziggy do.

She looks at the hand and then presses hers to it, palm to palm. Emotions rush in with the contact of her cold skin, curiosity the strongest of them.

"Hello, Balthazar." Her voice is high pitched but quiet and near impossibly calm. "Will you join us?"

Looking down at the palm pressed to his own, Balthazar felt the emotion rush into him causing him to close his eyes for a brief moment, just taking it all in. She was powerful and the angel could feel just how strong her emotions were compared to either Jack or Ziggy. Being full Anthean gave her a stronger ability and Balthazar indeed felt that.

"Of course. I would love to."

Offering her a beaming smile, as he opened his eyes once more, Balthazar felt a rush of comfort of finally being acquainted with Jack's mother.

Her presence is calm and caring. There's a moment of silence after he sits where neither of them are exactly sure what to say.

Aletayria fills it with a compliment. "Jack said you were willing to bring his children into your home. I'm happy that you've chosen to taken on the role of father with him."

Balthazar could feel the calm emanating from her and it caused him to smile warmly. The silence was between them yet it wasn't awkward, more of one akin to two people just enjoying each other's presence.

"Yes, I couldn't just leave them out in the cold back on his world. They deserve to be with him and to experience the Nexus."

The thought of the angel becoming a sort of father figure to them caused a swell of pride to build up inside of him.

"It's good of you." She tells him. "Not many men or women, even in my own species, are so willing to take in children that aren't theirs."

"Have you met them yet? I haven't."

also I've finally listened to the songs to know what the concert's all about. XD

Hiroki is high on feelings after the concert. The songs... the songs...

He comes up to Aletayria and the Major.

"Mother, Father, I love you," he says, sobbing a little. And glowing a little. Literally. "I just wanted to tell you that. I wish I were your family member."

"Oh. By the way, dad, I should show you IGF-Atlas. I think you'll like him. He's the ship, and the robot."

Aletayria stands up and gives him a hug. "You are family now."

Tom nods to the boy. "Ziggy mentioned it. I would love to come and see your technology."

They are still getting used to suddenly having such a big family all the sudden.

"I... I am. I am. Family."

He's still on a buzz from Ziggy's comcert.

"Aletayria, you're not a strange looking woman. You should've seen Bi-Boian women. Now they look funny. Men, too."

"You? You are pretty. I'd've fell for you if I met you before Princess Ziggy. And I'd be in for a good heartbreak."

"Yeah! Father, I'll show you Atlas in a few days. Ok?"
"I'm a small part of Atlas. If Zigg didn't tell you two."

"Yes, you are."

Aletayria laughs oddly at what she perceives as playful. "You would." She whispers to him with equal playfulness. "You'd have difficult competition that is very jealous."

"I'm retired. I can go any time." Tom smiles at the boy still hugging his wife. "He's explained some of it, yes."

"I would," Hiroki replies, with full mock seriousness and real warmth, she's such a mom to him, Aletayria is..
"I would challenge the major to duel to death over you. And then, knowing my life... I'd die. So 's all good."

"Ziggy explained? Wow. That's great. It's a bit complicated, but I'm sure he's managed better than me."

Astro was having a blast.

He'd never been to a concert before, and he was enjoying every moment. At first, he turned heads considering he was barely 5 feet and clearly appeared to be a minor. But word soon spread that the robot teenager was with the Stardust family and he was left to enjoy the party. Besides, Astro wasn't able to eat or drink anyway - so no one needed to be concerned about a child trying alcohol or other questionable substances.

Astro had listened to some of Ziggy's music at Tom and Aletayria's - so when some of the songs he knew were played, he sang along and clapped. At one point a fellow concert goer lifted him up onto their shoulders so he could see - and he cheered waving with his hands in the air.

Between sets and when people were socializing, Astro gravitated back towards where Tom and Aletayria were sitting. He was beaming from ear to ear, content to be with his family. He had tried to convince his Dad to come to the Nexus to see the concert, but Tenma had declined. Astro figured that if his Father wanted to meet the Stardust family, he'd probably like it better where it wasn't so loud and crowded. The Scientist was notorious for keeping to himself. Someday he wanted to bring Tenma here though.

"This is the coolest thing ever!" Astro slid into a seat next to Aletayria, reaching out a hand in invitation so that she could take it. Since his time with the Stardust family, he had discovered a love for the closeness and comfort of physical contact. Something Toby didn't get an abundance of growing up. Astro was making up for lost time.

Antheans had a very different idea than humans about what was appropriate for children and Tom was of the opinion that robots, like immortals, had a very different sliding scale for age appropriate. After all, by Anthean standards Ziggy was still a teenager.

Aletayria wrapped an arm around the boy. It was a natural reaction to his presence now. "It was my first time seeing him perform too."

Tom laughs and leans over to talk to Astro over the loud music. It is easy to forget the boy has better hearing. "You should see when he plays to a huge crowd. It gets crazy."

Tom would totally take Astro to one of the big tour venues if he wanted.

Delight moved through Astro's already joyful emotions as he snuggled into Aletayria's side when she slid an arm around him. Being held like this always gave him a sense of comfort and peace. He took a moment to quietly greet his hidden little sister with open fondness, before smiling over at Tom when the man leaned over to talk to him over the noise.

"I've never been to a concert before. It's pretty amazing. It's hard to imagine an even bigger one." He looked up at Aletayria, wondering if she was doing okay considering the volume in here and all the people. It must be hard to be an empath.

"What did you think? Isn't it cool?" He asked the Anthean with a smile. "I'm thinking of going over to the merch table later to say hi to Ziggy and his band. I might even get a t-shirt and a copy of his new album. I brought some money from home."

Astro will find that Zayda is very awake and reaches out for his mind though it is still very much like a baby reaching for fingers. Aletayria leans in. "It was her fist concert too."

Though the pouch blocked some sound, the emotions would certainly make it through and the baby was just as happy as everyone else.

"I'm very proud of what he does." Aletayria snuggles Astro a bit more smiling now that Tom is leaning in and has an arm around her too.

"People scream and faint. They wait for hours to see him sometimes." Tom tells Astro though he's glad this has been a calmer affair. The party on their own Earth in a few weeks was going to be much crazier than this.

"If you need more, just ask." Tom tells the boy because he really does want him to get everything he wants.

Having spotted one of the posters advertising the concert, Aziraphale decided to pop in and listen to Ziggy's music. Aletayria had spoken so fondly of her son's musical abilities that he decided it was worth checking out for himself.

Ah, he sighs disappointedly as he gives the first set a listen. Bebop.

Still, the warm, positive energy in the bar is quite nice. And he thinks Crowley would enjoy this kind of music. He'll pick up an album on the way out.

When he sees Aletayria and an older gentleman who he assumes is Ziggy's father, he walks over and smiles warmly. "Hello, Aletayria, it's good to see you again. Your son is giving quite the performance. It's very, ah... vibrant! I'm glad I stopped by."

"Aziraphale." Aletayria stands up to greet him. The energy has made her want to hug people, including this angel, if he's open to it. It will be easy to notice, for the angel, that she's pregnant. If she were human about half way through at a guess.

"Yes, he's vibrant. Thank you for coming. It means a lot to him that people come still after all that's happened."

"This is my husband, Major Tom Jones." She introduces them and Tom offers his hand to the other gentleman with a smile.

Aziraphale is a little surprised by the hug, but welcomes it warmly. He indeed notices that the alien woman is with child and beams at her when the hug ends. "I do believe some congratulations are in order, too!"

He leans over to shake Tom's hand. "Major. It's a pleasure to meet you. Your wife has told me all about you." As an angel, he can sense the love between them, and as an astute being, can easily infer the pride that both of them have for their son.

"Well, after everything you said, my dear, I naturally wanted to see your son in concert." Even if it's not his preferred genre of music, he would like to show his support for Aletayria's family. "I'll be sure to pick up a record, as well, for my partner to listen to."

The proximity of an unknown mind wakes Zayda and she reaches out with her mind, not fully formed, curious of the new person.

"Thank you. Things are still very delicate for her." She is delighted to be with child and grateful for any well wishes given the fear of things going wrong.

"Good things I hope." He comments as he offers a firm handshake. "Make sure to get them to sign it."

Tom is very social and motions toward the empty seats at thier table. "You can join us if you want."

He is well aware this is a party and the angel might have a lot of people to visit briefly.

Like always, Aziraphale is radiating love and kindness, which little Zayda should pick up without any trouble. "Well, if you need help with anything, please let me know. I absolutely adore babies. I can even bless her, if you like?" He has no idea how much impact his grace will have on a half-alien, but he's certainly willing to try.

Tom's reply has the angel chuckling a little. "Of course, dear fellow. And that's an excellent idea, Crowley will appreciate a signed copy."

He takes the offered seat with a gracious smile. Aziraphale knows a number of people here, but he's not in any hurry to make the rounds just yet. "I'm sure you get this question asked of you all the time, Major, but what's it like to be an astronaut? I've never been to space. My partner and I are planning a trip to Alpha Centauri, but it certainly won't be the same as being in a spaceship."
