Ziggy Stardust Nexus Album Release Party

Why not in the Nexus had started all of this and now skekSa's bar had glitter and space themed drinks for the night, karaoke and a band playing for the release of a new album. Ziggy had decided this was the best course since so much of his family and friends couldn't go into his world to be there for his own party in his own world.

Of course, as with any good party this one was open to any who had stumbled into it and there were those directly invited as well. And flashy posters too. He was going through the ends of a sound check with the band when the bar opened.

There was a merch table, with the usual swag and new album to buy on CD and Vinyl, where they would be signing autographs and doing the whole meet and greet thing. Why not have fans in more than one universe? It had been a trip explaining this all to Mick. Weird and Gilly before dragging them through the portal. Ziggy still imagined there was going to be some crazy moments later in the night. They didn't even know he was an alien, or half alien anywway. All of this was going to blow their minds for sure.

After the show they had plans to spend the night just hanging out with drinking, karaoke, a DJ, and the usual bar fare. Ziggy had left Sa to the food and drink though he had put in a few requests for food his own species could eat.

Ziggy fussed with everything before heading backstage to drink and get dressed. About an hour after the bar opened they came out on stage and played through the whole album front to back plus a few from the previous.

"I wasn't pawing." Ziggy smiles and tries to sound put out by the accusation. "I'd rather take them all the way off to check."

If Rondo is going to open that door Ziggy is going to walk into the room. He just grins. "What do you want?"

He meant to drink but it was more fun to let the question dangle in the open.

Once again, Ziggy, you have prompted Rondo to make a very peculiar noise, something between a groan and a squeak. He buries his face in his hands for a moment, ears swiveled out and back with mixed amusement and embarrassment.

"You're adorable but I think I want you to stop teasing me in front of the humans," he says, when he's able to pull himself together. "And I really need something cold to drink now."

"I'm not teasing." The mischief in his eyes as sparkly as the make up on his forehead. "It's my party I can disappear behind closed doors if you are shy."

He reaches under the merch table and pulls out a bottle of beer from the cooler hidden beneath. He figures it is a safe bet; low alcohol and small size of the person. At least until he knows more about elven constitution.

Beer is actually a very good bet! Elves tend not to care for anything too sweet, and Rondo's alcohol tolerance is about the same as a big adult human's would be. He accepts the bottle and holds it up to his face for a moment to cool the blush.

"You're not...? I mean...look, I know you have Hiroki and I don't want to hurt his feelings. He seemed a little uncertain before, and I don't know how your relationship works? Because he's human and they have different cultural...attitude...things."

"I guess I just don't get what's okay and what's not." He trails off sheepishly, positive he sounds dumb now, but also kind of pleased to know he's genuinely interesting to Ziggy. "A-anyway, I'm really glad I came. Seeing you perform is amazing."

It takes a minute for Ziggy to catch up. He's high from the stage and drugs and drink throughout the night. He's so used to people knowing and for everyone to be open. He smiles finally and shakes his head when he realizes what is going on.

"I talk to him about this. He's told me it's ok as long as I come home and don't stay away." Which Ziggy has always read as not spending all night or all day away. He does get a laugh from Ziggy and the faintest blush.

"I don't listen to what's right or wrong for human society. It gets me in trouble sometimes but he's my partner, I made sure I know and those limits I listen to." Ziggy is hardly this honest with most people. Hiroki gets this kind of flat faced declaration but that is all.

"I like seeing you too." Ziggy has toned down but not totally and winks. "More than you thought I did."

This is obviously an immense relief to Rondo. He breaks into a smile and a little laugh, and reaches out to put his hand over Ziggy's. "Ha, and now you're blushing, so we're even."

Not that he's blushing at anywhere near the level Rondo is. Still, considering it's Ziggy, Rondo will take what he can get. "I just don't want to screw anything up for you. You deserve to be happy."

He takes a sip of beer, pausing for a moment to roll it on his tongue and decide if he likes it. And then he gives him a slightly mischievous smile. "But, I mean, if I can contribute to you being happy, I'm in."

Maybe a little less publicly, that's all.

Ziggy takes his hand and presses the palms together even if they are very different sizes. Ziggy starts laughing. "Contrary to everyone I do have some modesty left."

Now that things are more open the fondness Ziggy has for the elf is a little less restrained. "You won't as long as you're ok with only part of my attention."

Part of Ziggy's attention was still like a solar flare but it was a check in that Ziggy felt was needed after talking about Hiroki's feelings. He doesn't want Rondo hurt either. Giving up on squatting, Ziggy sits on the floor. No one seems to notice exactly.

"You do" Ziggy leans in and kisses the elf's cheek quickly, more mischief about public affection than a serious kiss. "I'll try to help you be happy, too."

"Oh, Ziggy. I don't even know if I could handle all of your attention," he says with a laugh, then leans in to hug him. "I'm still in school, you know."

He gets what he means by asking, though, and it makes him feel good. "You really are sweet."

He sits beside him, reasonably comfortable with kisses and close proximity. "In the interest of full disclosure, there's this other guy I'm kinda flirting with, too. But we're not exclusive."

"No one can." He smiles but there's something there that sort of tarnishes his shine for a moment. "My species doesn't sleep or get tired."

Ziggy takes the hug and pulls him close. It may be the first time Rondo feels the fragile nature of his body; the thin ribs and reduced bone structure. His ribs flex under the pressure of a hug, even someone as small as Rondo.

"I don't get all this attention being sour." The closeness instantly brings his more playful side out. Ziggy nods to the revelation. "I don't mind sharing. It's what I'm asking you to do too but I don't want to be forced to compete. I don't like to."

Ziggy cuddles in close and weighs nearly nothing, even with most of his upper body leaning on Rondo. "What kind of dates do you like?.... So I can ask you on one."

The one thing about Antheans, and was only amplified by his father's influence, is the romantic and contact based way they come at others. The attraction from an Anthean isn't only a physical desire but also an emotional one. It's all or nothing despite Ziggy's string of single night flings that marked most of his existence prior to coming to the Nexus.
