Ziggy Stardust Nexus Album Release Party

Why not in the Nexus had started all of this and now skekSa's bar had glitter and space themed drinks for the night, karaoke and a band playing for the release of a new album. Ziggy had decided this was the best course since so much of his family and friends couldn't go into his world to be there for his own party in his own world.

Of course, as with any good party this one was open to any who had stumbled into it and there were those directly invited as well. And flashy posters too. He was going through the ends of a sound check with the band when the bar opened.

There was a merch table, with the usual swag and new album to buy on CD and Vinyl, where they would be signing autographs and doing the whole meet and greet thing. Why not have fans in more than one universe? It had been a trip explaining this all to Mick. Weird and Gilly before dragging them through the portal. Ziggy still imagined there was going to be some crazy moments later in the night. They didn't even know he was an alien, or half alien anywway. All of this was going to blow their minds for sure.

After the show they had plans to spend the night just hanging out with drinking, karaoke, a DJ, and the usual bar fare. Ziggy had left Sa to the food and drink though he had put in a few requests for food his own species could eat.

Ziggy fussed with everything before heading backstage to drink and get dressed. About an hour after the bar opened they came out on stage and played through the whole album front to back plus a few from the previous.

"I met Minoru on my birthday. You- You agree with me that Hiroki needs to love himself more, right? He deserves this wedding, and it's going to be so...sparkling. Colorful? No, there's a word for this..."

He's going to keep sipping his last drink of the night and mull over this convention of English.

“Duh!” Minoru laughed, nudging Hiroki in the shoulder, but still talking directly to Mantis. “He deserves this wedding. BUT more importantly - THEY deserve each other!”

"Nonsense, Minoru. Buddy. I don't deserve my Ziggy. Truly. He's like a comet. And also like that star, uhm, you know the kind, that-"

What was the word? The concert has hit Hiroki heavily.

Minoru would not be swayed there. “If he’s a falling star, you gotta catch him before he hits the ground.”

"At least you have a star. The most I ever got was a snake. He's a good snake, but he's never been comparable to a star the way he talks about Ziggy." Mantis sighs a little and sits back, glitter raining off of him gently. "Although everyone at this concert is going to leave covered in Stardust's stardust."

Minoru nudged Mantis now. “Are you kidding?! Snakes are wonderful too!!”

"You haven't met mine. He's a theater major at heart and never stops talking once he gets going." He leans in closer to Minoru, a smile in his voice. "Nyoka's accent is so heavily laid on at times, I wanted to put tape over his mouth just go get him to stop."

"If Ziggy was falling, I'd catch Ziggy even if that were to kill me."

"Snakes are alright. You showed me your snake, Mantis. In mind. I know your snake since than thanks to you. I'd like to meet."

“Oh, you’d love him. Everyone does, but that’s just how Snakes like him work. They’re all charisma and zero,” He held up a hand in the shape of an ‘o’. “Idea of how most people actually feel about them. Beautiful faces, and even I can see that, but between four... No, five skulls? My point is that there’s two brain cells between all of them, and they never get close enough to form a thought about how many people look up to them.”

Minoru nodded happily as well. “I’d like to meet him sometime too!”

Somewhere in that situationally-intoxicated mind, Minoru remembered there being a snake on Mantis’s ofrenda. But he hadn’t fully connected enough dots to ask about it.

"Liquid Snake," Hiroki supplies...helpfully? He hopes. He's still high, his spirit is, buzzed, for lack of any better word. "Really important guy to Psycho Mantis. His best friend, I think. And Mantis is talking about several people, because clones."

"Why- why do some people clone soldiers, anyway? It's stupid. Just wondering. But I do want to live."

Some things he wouldn't necessarily say here outloud if not for the emotional perturbances. Positive perturbances, because of course, from Ziggy, but still.

"Minoru, your hair's very colourful."

Minoru shook his head, showing off the messy but colorful locks. It wasn’t an everyday look by any means, but he was here to celebrate Ziggy and his new album!

“MORE clones?” He looked between Mantis and Hiroki. There was something about the aura of the venue now that made sticking to a serious topic so hard. “Like, twins are super cool - wouldn’t trade my bro for the world - but WOW, does everybody have them now?”

"Well, in my world, they only did it twice. Liquid, Solid, Solidus Snake. Liquid and Solid are twins, and I'm friends with Liquid. Solidus was a shit show of a science experiment."

Mantis crosses one leg over the other and leans on the temporary arm rest.

"They wanted to re-make the perfect soldier and instead made three completely different people who were all disasters by one degree or another. Liquid will always be the best one to me."

Hiroki winces and looks at his right hand.

Then he closes his eyes and takes a deep breath.

"Excuse me," he says, "how 'bout we don't talk about how anything... anyone... could be some freak's army's greatest weapon, tonight?"

Nobody here said that, though.

Hiroki's right arm is trembling slightly.

"Or I can just. Go buy some merch while you two talk. Don't mind me," Hiroki says.

“That’s right. We should be talking about how somebody’s gonna be Ziggy’s greatest HUSBAND!”

Never mind that there’s really only one of those, it was the best change of topic he could make. He put an arm over Hiroki and pulled him into a hug before he could think of disappearing to the merch table.

“Have you started making wedding plans?”

"A fantastic husband. And since we're back here, how do you plan to dress? I always think of veils for weddings, but since you're going to be the husband, maybe that wouldn't count."

He's got his head cocked slightly to one side now and he sends the slightest psychokinetic brush towards Hiroki to try and see how much glitter would rain down from his hair.

"And a cake. Cakes are important."

"I, I..."

"I'm wondering about my wedding vows. Since I'm already dead. So it can't be till death. That ship's sailed. Whoosh!!"

"Cake is good!!"

Hiroki giggles.

Lots of glitter fall down. Yeah, plenty. Hiroki giggles again, airily.

"I'd rather have glitter in my hair than Quintessence or blood," he says. "Glitter's pretty. And Ziggyish."

"If you can't promise to death, promise for as long as you get to stay together. It's the same level of devotion, just not as dramatic sounding. I know Ziggy is the image next to the dictionary definition of 'extra', but you can tone it down. A little."

Mantis is delighted by the shower of shiny pieces falling off of Hiroki's head. He spins a finger, taking more of it off of Hiroki and spinning it like a ring around a planet about Hiroki.

"You do seem to be adapting well."

Minoru laughed at how much glitter there was, leaning out of range just slightly.

“The good thing about wedding vows is you get to say whatever you want, right? It doesn’t HAVE to be till death do you part. It can be about the life that you live!”

And he absolutely agreed that cake was always good.

"Guys, did you know that Ziggy healed my soul a bit? And I mean that literally now, not poetically."

Hiroki smiles softly.

"Poetically, too, but before that, literally. If you don't believe me, you can look at it, Mantis."

"The life. Yeah. I wanna share everything with my Beloved."

"I have no idea how all that glitter got here. I mean, no idea apart from 'Ziggy', but that sounds like half an explanation," Shiro's clone mutters.

And then he just pulls Mantis and Minoru into a hug.

"Nuh uh, Ziggy's not extra, 's just that no one Reality can contain him. But unlike some witch, Ziggy doesn't plan to go destroying Realities cuz of that. 'Cause Ziggy cares. I'm often flabbergasted just how much Ziggy cares."

"Good. Be a whole and fixed man insead of a broken one. If Ziggy can make that happen, so much the better."

He's slumped a bit forward now an a quick glance inside the mind tells him Hiroki is exceptionally happy than he has been in a while. When the hug happens, he leans into it and spares a couple of polite pats on Hiroki's back.

"Some people are born to brak things. Some people are born to fix things. Ziggy is clearly designed to spread around compasion."
